ISO 26262 - Essentials of Automotive Functional Safety

With a myriad of mechanical components, modern automobiles extensively use electronic and electrical parts. The International Organization for Standardization has created an extensive standard called ISO 26262 to ensure their functional safety for consumers. With this long course, Exoexcellence Consultants aims to explain all aspects related to this standard, including a concept called the V-model and its implementation.

Today, every automobile comes with electric and electronic components installed. Thus, modern automobiles combine mechanical and electronic parts. Speaking of these parts, it is essential to ensure the functional safety of their consumers. In this regard, the Internal Organization for Standardization has enacted a standard called ISO 26262, titled "Road vehicles – Functional safety" Using their expertise in the ISO standards, curriculum experts at Exoexcellence Consultants have developed this detailed course on ISO 26262.
The course is designed for seasoned automotive engineers and newcomers to the field. It equips them with the knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of ISO 26262 and ensure compliance with its rigorous requirements. Each standard aspect, from fundamental principles to practical application, is thoroughly explored, providing a solid foundation for functional safety practices. The course comprises two detailed modules with nine topics in total. The first module discusses automotive safety in light of ISO 26262 and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment. It also explains the requirements of phases 1, 2, and 3 of ISO 26262.
The next module explains the requirements for Phases 4 to 9. It also presents a delicate overview of the guidelines for implementing ISO 26262. An important aspect, the V-Model, and its implementation are also discussed in Phases 4, 5, and 6. After completing this course, you can demonstrate your skills in automotive safety.
