Learn English: Visiting Restaurants and Coordinating Conjunctions

This short English course delves into the words and phrases relating to food and dining out in restaurants. You will refresh your memory with our grammar topics, which include articles and countable and uncountable nouns. We will then introduce you to coordinating conjunctions. If you want to be proficient in English, this course builds on your progress and enhances your basic grammatical and English speaking skills.

Learning English can be daunting, so Alison has designed a number of courses to guide you in learning English step by step. This course begins by teaching you the vocabulary related to restaurants. You will discover the meanings of the headings on a menu and how to confidently order from the wine list.
The following two topics concentrate on improving your grammar skills. We begin by recapping definite and indefinite articles and when to use them. We review countable and uncountable nouns before discussing when to use 'much' or 'many' when talking about quantities. Next, we will clarify when to use 'some' in the affirmative and 'any' in negative sentences, both of which you can use when asking questions. You will discover when to use words such as 'something,' 'anything,' 'nothing,' and 'everything' before introducing the coordinating conjunctions' and' and 'or.'
You can then practice all the new words, phrases, and grammar points you have learned in the previous topics. You will read an article about a new restaurant, study its menu, and answer questions relating to both. We encourage you to download the writing activity from the 'Resource' section to practice your English writing skills. The high-quality material you will receive in this course will help you learn valuable words used to navigate everyday situations and enhance your business opportunities.
